Conditions of Use and Recommendations

• The person hiring the canoe is required to be over 18, as a "Hire and Drive" contract must be signed.
  A driver's licence is also required, as this forms part of our identification process.
• A security deposit of $250 is required for each craft that is hired.
  We prefer this to be paid in cash, as it is easier to return cash than process a refund on to a card, when you return the equipment.
• PFDs (personal floatation devices) will be provided to the hiree, and must be worn when on the water at all times.
• Craft can only be used during daylight hours. (No paddling before sunrise or after sunset)
• No alcoholic beverages to be consumed before or during use of our craft.
• Be aware of the conditions you will be paddling in, including tides where appropriate.
  Check local weather forecasts for any expected changes in weather conditions.
• Tell someone where you will be going and when you expect to return.
• Wear appropriate clothing to protect yourself from the sun and heat or cold.
  Rash vests are a great option for sun protection, when combined with a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses.
  It is recommended that you avoid cotton clothing as you will become cold quickly if it gets wet.
• Take plenty of water to drink, especially when it is hot.
• Footwear should be worn, but we do not recommend thongs. Rubber soled, wetsuit boots or old joggers are the best.
• Remember any personal medication that may be required, such as asthma spray or epi-pen.
• Take your rubbish with you and dispose of it thoughtfully.
